Joanne Rose

– Partner

I am a Chartered Accountant with over 25 year’s experience in Public Practice. I spent many years with a top tier Chartered Accountancy firm and 8 years as the Senior Practice Manager in an internationally affiliated Chartered Accountancy Practice. 

I was lucky enough to move my family to Rarotonga in 2009 where i spent 2 years working as a senior tax auditor with the Cook Island Government. This put me in a great position to understand local tax law and provide a needed skill and service to my adopted country.

I really enjoy meeting new people, finding out about their businesses and helping them to understand it better. I have built some great relationships over the years. I try to be approachable and make my clients feel they can email or phone anytime with queries or to discuss any issue.

I have experience in a wide range of sectors including farming (beef, sheep and dairy), construction, hospitality, horticulture, agricultural contracting, retail, and tourism industries. I have significant experience in large system implementations, accounting and business system redesign and have managed large shared services accounting functions of over 50 staff.

I have been using Xero software in the practice since we started in late 2010, and fully implemented it in all facets of the practice early 2018. I now can provide this software to clients in both countries as well as provide support and user training.

When I am not working, I love spending time on our lifestyle block or with any of my 4 grown children and 1 grandchild. On the other side of the ocean my husband and I have holiday accommodation on the beach, and when I am not working there, I enjoy walking on the beach and catching up with friends.

I have the knowledge and experience of just how difficult it can be at times running a business. I am fortunate enough to have a great team of experienced people to support me and look after our many great clients.

Anna Jordan

I am a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years experience in public practice. I enjoy dealing with clients and have built some great relationships. I like them to feel they can email or phone anytime with queries or to discuss any issue. I believe it is important to monitor the progress as they go through the year rather than just dealing with figures at the end of the year and get the nasty tax surprise.

I was one of the early users of Xero when it was first getting off the ground in New Zealand, so I know the in’s and out’s of the software. I use it in our own business at home. I also have experience in a couple of different job management systems which are highly recommended for tradies to keep track of time and parts used on the jobs. They also can be used for planning and scheduling work and employees.

Being a small business owner myself I have the knowledge and experience of just how difficult it can be at times. Especially with things like tax bills and cashflow, where you are dependent on customers paying their bills.

When I’m not in the office, I enjoy spending time In my garden, out on the boat and spending time with my family.

Kim Pascoe

– Client Manager

Originally from Mangawhai I moved down to Auckland where I started building my 26 years experience in the office and with financial accounts. I have worked in various companies in Auckland before moving to Kerikeri, where I now live with my partner and three children.

Three years ago I joined the amazing team at JMA as a Client Manager, after previously working with another accounting firm in Kerikeri for 15 years. I pride myself in having built and maintained amazing relationships with my clients over the years, I feel that maintaining client contact and building a trusting relationship is still the most important part of my job.

My experience includes processing and preparing financial statements and tax returns, payroll, quarterly reporting and much more. I am Xero certified but also have experience in other software packages including MYOB.

Vicki McIlroy

Client Manager

I have worked as an Assistant Accountant for the last 20 years in Corporations within NZ, both large and small, public and private companies.   I have extensive knowledge in accounting systems, budgeting and payroll. I have also assisted my husband in running a successful business within the construction sector, which we have now sold.  I therefore, know firsthand the highs and lows of being self-employed, being an employer, managing cashflow, sourcing growth capital, debt consolidation, and budgeting.

My interests outside the office include interior design, gardening, fitness, the beach and spending time with my family.

Veronica Woods

Administration Superstar

I moved to the thriving metropolis of Kerikeri nearly 30 years ago having worked in various offices in Auckland and overseas doing work that involved a wide range of administration duties.

Before joining the lovely people at JMA I worked for a local chartered accountant for nearly 22 years and completed different administration duties for both clients and the accountancy firm.

I spend a lot of my time walking my border collie Lola and trying to develop a garden in a newly cleared area at home.
